Shannon lyrics

Broke days
Used to take you to Del Taco
You were proud to be raving about me
Average Joe but you must have seen me like I was Joe Flacco
Simpler times, watching movies like Scott Pilgrim
Had talks of moving to New York
And raising children
If I released the tape, it be more popping than Paris Hilton
Going to Barnes & Noble
But we weren’t even reading any of the books
The way you moved up and down
Side to side
If you were a chess piece, you were like a rook
Attended your dance shows
Bought you cheap jewelry
Still have thoughts of making love
But I know that’s just my heart fooling me

Shannon
It was quite a ride
I wonder how you been living your life
I guess for you, I’ll rap one
Shannon
It was the best of times
I didn’t know our last goodbye
Would truly be our last one

Left the kush, tacos, and good weather
To better your life
Shoutout to the guy in Seattle
Or wherever
That ends up making you his wife
I guess I just miss your company
I know I move on quick
But don’t think I ever forget all that you done for me
Our time together was quite humbling
Wrote songs for Josephine
So it’s only right I wrote one for you
Knowing who I am now
Sometimes I get bitter and feel like I was used
I don’t want to confuse
Promises made in our youth
As something worth keeping
I know it’s not just me who outgrew
The things we been through
Our love didn’t last forever, and it’s cool

Oh remember that lock-in we had at youth group. We were watching a movie, and I sat next to you. That was the start of it all. You probably thought I would actually sit with another dude or try to holler at Lena or some of the other cute church nunahs, but I made that move towards you. And I know you were digging it. Remember when my ma took you shopping and bought you that light blue mini skirt. I don’t know why you never wore it. I thought it looked good on you. Remember when we watched Balls of Fury and every time the main protagonist kissed, we kissed each other as well. That was some super corny sh*t, but it was cute because it was so us. So us… There’s no other way to describe it. I still remember when you bought that navy blouse and it really accentuated your titties. I was like damn… I can’t believe she is my girl. Remember when I danced with one of your homegirls and you got jealous as f*ck. That was super cute. It was nice knowing I can bring that side out of you. Remember when we got coffee before you left to Seattle, and we both wore our shades and we were in Old Torrance. That day was truly special, and a day I won’t forget. I remember you taking my black LA hat. I hope you didn’t sell it for money or for clout, and that you still have it with you. It might be a long shot, but it be nice to meet up with you, and you return it to me on that day. But instead of taking back the hat, I would just give it to you as a memorabilia to keep, so that you’ll always have something that’s a part of me. Remember how you used to joke that I would be like Lotso. Funny thing is, I gained 20 pounds, and I do now be looking a lot like Lotso lol. Remember how we held hands in the back of Steve Hyung’s car when we were getting patbingsoo. That was like the day when we were like publicly and officially a couple. I don’t know if you remember these times, but these are the things I remember, when I think about you
