Intro: Happiness (Live) lyrics

So, after Rent, uh, which was, you know, life-changing in every possible way, I wasn't sure what I was gonna do next, um, and it was a little scary, thinking like what could possibly follow that up, and one of the reasons that that was particularly intense and scary was that Rent was the last show my mom was able to see, because during the run of the show on Broadway she lost her, uh, battle with cancer. So she was able to come to opening night on Broadway, for which I will forever be grateful, but that was the last time she saw me perform, she'd been supportive of me since I did my first show when I was six. Um, so when I was in London doing the show after [clapping] oh that's very, thank you. Um, so when I was in London doing the show, doing Rent, uh, I was like what am I gonna do next? I got a, I got a, uh, call for putting myself on tape for an audition for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, um, which on the outside might have seemed like this really strange thing, but actually, it's a show that I did when I was seven at summer camp. So my mum saw me play Snoopy when I was seven, so knowing that that very next thing also still had a connection to her was incredibly comforting and meaningful to me. So I'd like to sing a song from that show, in loving memory of my mother.
