I told you earlier that some of the songs I was going to sing tonight
I'm singing for no other reason than
I think they're great songs and I love to sing them
And these next two fall into that category
They're from a TV musical that Steve wrote in the Sixties
Called Evening Primrose
And the premise, like a lot of Sondheim shows, was unusual
It was about a group of people
Who were secretly living in a department store
And one of them was a young woman named Ella
Who had lived in this store since she was six years old
